Vinted Shoppers Voice Displeasure Over Size Changes

Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.

This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update.

Countless users and merchants are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.

The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance.

Measurement Approach Updates

Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The new system has a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Member Experiences

A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she said.

Platform Context

The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users.

It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
